2024 National Asian & Pacific Islander American Historic Preservation FORUM will be in Seattle, WA - September 12-15.
This year's FORUM will span four days filled with enriching sessions and immersive tours, designed to deepen our understanding and commitment to Asian & Pacific Islander American heritage through the lens of historic preservation. Program activities will be centralized in but not limited to Seattle’s Chinatown International District, the only area in the continental United States where Chinese, Japanese, Filipinos, African Americans, and Vietnamese have settled together and built one neighborhood. The neighborhood’s recent listing as one of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 11 Most Endangered Places also underscores the urgency and relevance of our mission. As time and resources allow, program activities will reach across Puget Sound and outside of the metro area as we dig deep to make those meaningful connections within the Asian Pacific diaspora throughout the Pacific Northwest. Participants will have the chance to engage with a diverse group of experts, community leaders, and fellow enthusiasts, gaining insights into the latest innovations, challenges, and opportunities in the field.
Call for Sessions closed on Sunday, April 28 and are currently in review.
You may still submit a late proposal until Friday, May 3.
